Step One: Consultation

Our local Fort Collins landscape designers want to get to know you – to learn about your dream project and site access, goals, and timeframe while demonstrating why Mill Brothers can be the solution to bring your backyard landscaping ideas to life.

Step Two: Site Visit

After the initial consultation, and assuming we have earned your trust to move forward, time will be scheduled for a designer to meet you at your home to dive deep into the unique features of your project. With this on-site collaboration, Fort Collins’ best landscape designers will be able to present a design time frame, as well as conceptual plans.

Step Three: Budgeting

It’s normal for people to avoid talking about the budget. Every one of us is a consumer, and the worst feeling to have is that you’re being taken advantage of. We completely understand this. If there are budgetary concerns, we highly recommend developing a master plan and then installing the landscape in phases over time as budget allows. This will allow us to make provisions in the first phase, so future work can be done as cost-effectively as possible and without damaging previously installed work. Step Four: Conceptual plan review

Once the design agreement has been executed, your landscape designer will create a master plan and will make an appointment to review those plans and materials with you. Your designer will have created a preliminary estimate to ensure it is in line with the previously discussed budget.

Step Five: Final plan review

Any revisions from the conceptual backyard landscape idea will be incorporated into the final project and all materials, finishes, appliances, landscape plantings, enhancements, irrigation, and lighting, along with all other details, will be noted on the plan or as a supplemental attachment. Final pricing will be provided, and any further questions will be addressed.

Step Six: Contract Signing

As part of the final plan review meeting, your designer will have a contract prepared and a tentative start date to realize your backyard landscaping idea in Fort Collins. Your landscape designer will then prepare construction documents for permitting, engineering, and HOA approval, if required. But don’t worry – we handle all the permitting and submittals as part of our service.
